EURUSD

Trading strategy: standing aside

The euro pulled back yesterday but not enough to fill Monday’s gap as it found support into the mid 1.35 region, recovering to 1.3650 where it trades at the time of writing. Short-term sentiment remains bullish as long as pullbacks are finding bids above the 1.3500 mark and key resistance is emerging at 1.3800. Potential break of 1.38 within the coming days will be an important bullish confirmation, opening 1.4-1.42. However, it is still too early to look that far up, as pressure within the EU zone is still high. Today’s economic schedule includes important releases in the U.S. such as CPI, Retails Sales and Bernanke’s testimony. Intra-day sentiment is bullish for now and minor dips may find support at 1.3600. Current quote is 1.3651 @04:50 GMT

GBPUSD

Trading strategy: looking to buy at 1.5455, stop at 1.5395(0.5% risk), objective at 1.5555

Current consolidation is limited to the upside by the minor resistance formed by the trend line coming from Monday’s top through yesterday’s peak, currently around 1.5425. Short-term sentiment shows strength – upside remaining favored while above support at 1.5300. On the upside – 1.5500 and 1.5570 are in focus if cable continues to consolidate gains into the 1.54 region. In case of a pullback, dips may be bought around 1.5300 while on the other side, buying on break of 1.5450 might be a good bet. Current quote is 1.5404 @04:50 GMT
